David Allen Wagner, age 65 of Knoxville died Sunday August 23, 2009 at his residence in rural Knoxville.

David was born in Bennett, Iowa on June 6, 1944 to Ernest Kermit and Mina Erma (Shore) Wagner.

David worked most of his life. He had worked at the Shell Gas Station, cleaned the Village Theatre; and he help at the Maid Rite Café all in Knoxville. David also shoveled walks and mowed lawns for senior citizens in Knoxville. David retired at the age of 62, helping the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mina; his siblings, Lettie Snow, Mack Wagner, James Wagner, Jessie Wagner, and Joseph Wagner; two brother-in-laws, Leonard Schroeder and Howard Hester; and one sister-in-law, Thelma Wagner.

David is survived by his siblings, Ernest and Anna Wagner of Rochelle, IL, Ramona and Eugene Barnard of Melcher, Ellen Schroeder of Crescent, Marjorie Hester of Knoxville, Anna and Harold Simmons of Knoxville, Melvin Wagner of Parker, AZ, and Esther and Irl Clarke of Knoxville. David is also survived by one sister-in-law, Anita Wagner of Stayton, OR; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Living Word Fellowship Church in Knoxville, with Pastor Douglas Brady. Burial will follow services at Graceland Cemetery.
