MOSES A CLARKE

Moses A Clarke died at his home, at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday July 14, 1920 [should have read 1925] at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 17 days. His death followed a short illiness and was caused by heart failure. Mr. Clarke had not been very well for some weeks, but had been about, attending to affairs as usual, until Sunday. The physician called found his condition pretty serious Monday, but he appeared considerably better Tuesday. Another attack early that evening resulted in his death.

Mr. Clarke was born at Cascade, Iowa, but has been a resident of Pella since childhood. He was a painter and paper hanger by trade. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters. The children are Mrs H.C. Buswell of Jefferson, Iowa; Mrs L B. Shock of Chicago: Robert of Shellrock; Lewis of Chicago and George of Fairfield. George and Mrs. Shock were home at the time of death of their father. He also leaves two brothers, Gordon of Pella and Olin Of Tacoma, Washington and two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Towne of Marshaltown, and Mrs. C.E. Hamner of Blencoe, Iowa,

Funeral services were appointed for Thursday, at home at 2:20 and interment was at Oakwood cemetery.
