Stittsworth, Amos – 1880-1954

Amos Stittsworth, son of David and Elizabeth Stittsworth, was born five miles north of Knoxville, October 6, 1880, and died at the Mercy hospital in Oskaloosa, February 20, at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 14 days.
The deceased was born and raised on the same farm and spent his life in the same neighborhood successfully engaged in farming throughout this time.
On March 12, 1899, the deceased was married to Martha Weaver, of Knoxville. To this union four children were born – Willis Stittsworth, of Walker, Minn.; Robert Stittsworth, who died August 10, 1947; Gladys, wife of W. H. Bailey and David Stittsworth, both of Knoxville.
Besides his widow and children, he leaves twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Greer, living in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the First Methodist church, in Knoxville, conducted by Rev. M. D. Summerbell. Interment was in Graceland cemetery.
