Gerald Hayes, a former resident of Knoxville, died at the Veterans hospital, in Des Moines, Friday, January 8, at the age of 48 years. Death was caused by a heart attack.
The deceased was a son of W. S. Hayes, and was born in Knoxville. He had lived in Des Moines for the past sixteen years. He was a member of St. Ambrose church and a graduate of the local high school.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mary Hayes, of Des Moines, and two brothers, Wayne Hayes, of Knoxville, and Robert Hayes, of Davenport.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. from the Hamilton funeral home in Des Moines, with burial in the Greenwood cemetery, north of Knoxville.
