Mrs. Jane Mathews, aged 91 years, died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Elmer Moon, in Columbia, Wednesday evening, January 17, 1906. Mrs. Mathews was born in the early part of the year 1815 and has been a resident of Marion county for nearly a half century. She leaves many relatives in the south part of the county, besides a host of friends. The funeral is to be held today (Friday,) conducted by Rev. Bates. Burial in Columbia cemetery.
