Hi Shaun,
I am related to the Feagins/Figgins family. Alexander Figgins and I share a common ancestor in Daniel Feagins. I am a descendant of Daniel's son, Willis. Alexander is a descendant of Daniel's son, Fielding. Here is a little bio I put together from my research. It starts with Alexander's father, Fielden Figgins Jr.

1. Fielden Figgins Jr, the son of Fielding Figgins and Eleanor Craig, was born between 1805 and 1810 in Ohio. He lived most of his life in Washington Township, Fayette County, Ohio, until the 1840’s when he moved to Davis County, Iowa. In 1835 in Fayette County, Ohio, he married Delilah Dawson. Together they had 7 children. She died before 1868, probably in Iowa. No death or burial record has been found for her.
Fielden Figgins next married Prudence Buzzard in 1868 in Davis County, Iowa. He and Prudence are found in the 1870 census living with their infant son, Alexander and her parents, Solomon and Martha Buzzard. Fielden apparently died before 1880, as in the 1880 census, Prudence (Buzzard) Figgins is listed as a widow with five children. By the 1885 Iowa state census, she is not found and two of her children, Alexander and Eva, have been adopted out. No death or burial record for either Fielden or Prudence has been found. No record for the three other daughters of Fielden and Prudence has been discovered after the 1880 census.

Fieldin FEAGINS and Prudence BUZZARD had the following children:

Alexander (Figgins) Guthrie, born 17 December 1869, Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa; married Nellie Belle Wilson, 1 January 1895, Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa; died 14 April 1943, Fort Dodge, Webster County, Iowa.

Eveline "Eva" Figgins, born 10 June 1872, Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa; married (1st) William H. Hogsett, 15 June 1891, Oskaloosa, Iowa; married (2nd) John Hawket Southwick, 18 December 1905, Oskaloosa, Iowa; died 15 April 1938, Chicago, Illinois.

Lavina Figgins was born about 1874 in Iowa. Lavina, her two younger sisters, Alexander and Eva all appeared in the census taken on 8 June 1880 in Bloomfield, Davis, Iowa as the grandchildren of Martha Buzzard.

Mary J. Figgins was born about 1876 in Iowa.

Elma Figgins was born about 1878 in Iowa.

2. Fielding Figgins (Sr), son of Daniel Feagins and Violet Combs, was born on 13 December 1769 in Loudoun County, Virginia. He was also known as Fielding Feagins. Fielding Feagins at some point in his life changed the spelling of his surname to Figgins. It's not certain why this occurred; one theory is a family falling out. Not all of his children adopted the new surname, and he can be found in records under either surname, as can most of his children. His tombstone reads Fielding Figgins.
Fielding Figgins married (1st) Eleanor Craig in 1795 in Kentucky. Eleanor was born about 1774 in Virginia. They had 7 children; Eleanor died in Ohio in 1813. In 1816, Fielding married (2nd) Charity Harvey (nee Masters) in Mason County, Kentucky. They had 3 children. He and Charity moved to Iowa after 1840.
Fielding died in June 1849 at the age of 79 in Washington County, Iowa.
He was buried at Richmond Cemetery in Washington County, Iowa.

4. Daniel FEAGINS was born about 1740 in Loudoun County, Virginia. The names of his parents are not yet known. Daniel Feagins married Violet "Letty" Combs on 3 February 1763 in Loudoun County, Virginia. Daniel fought with the Virginia Continental Line during the Revolutionary War.
In 1786, the Feagins family migrated to Mason County, Kentucky. They settled in Kenton Station near what is now Maysville. They moved to Brown County, Ohio in 1809, and then to Fayette County. Daniel died in July 1815 at the age of 75 in Brown County, Ohio, while visiting his son-in-law Jacob Berget or Burkhart.
Violet "Letty" Combs was born in 1743 in Virginia. She lived for many years after Daniel died, dying on 14 February 1842 at the age of 99 in Fayette County, Ohio.

Hope all this helps some more.
Kind regards,
Eileen
