Gladys M. Brantingham, 87, of 1108 A Ave W., died Saturday, Nov. 1, 1986 at Mahaska County Hospital. She was born April 3, 1899 at Stuart, the daughter of William and Cora Gaa Pearson.
She was married to Taylor S. Brantingham on May 17, 1921 at Oskaloosa and later divorced. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School and for 40 years was a secretary with the Bray, Carson, McCoy Law Firm until retiring at age 62. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Barbara Goodman, Rt. 3, New Sharon, and Mrs. Rex (Donna) Goodman, Rt. 1, Rose Hill; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles and Floyd; and a sister Grace Shaffer.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Newman Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Troxler officiating. Burial was in Forest Cemetery at Oskaloosa. (source and date unknown; likely Oskaloosa Herald)
