Memorial services are pending for Ruth Drees, 78. She died Wed. Jan. 9 at home. A complete obituary will be in next week's Madisonian.

Ruth Drees, Winterset

Memorial services for Ruth Drees, 87, will be held Fri. Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating.

She was born in Peru March 10, 1903 to Sam and Nettie Powell and grew up in Madison County. She married Bert Drees in 1923. They lived in Dubuque several years and then went to Des Moines. Upon retirement, they came to Winterset.

She was a member of First Christian Church, had been a cook in the Winterset schools and had been in the restaurant business with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, one sister and one brother.

Surviving are two nephews, Jim and Max Jorgenson, and several grand nieces and nephews.

The body was cremated, and ashes are to be interred at a later date at the Peru Cemetery.
