Ortha Beulah Garofano, daughter of Floyd and Hettie (Douglas) Morris, was born January 9, 1912 at Truro, Iowa. She passed from this life October 5, 2008 at the Westbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Winterset, Iowa at the age of 96 years.

Ortha grew up in Truro, Iowa. She attended Truro school and worked at the grocery store for several years. She loved caring for her parents. Later she moved to Arizona and returned to Iowa moving to Osceola.

She married Phillip Garofano later in life. She was legally blind, but that did not slow her down in any way. She enjoyed playing pool and was very independent.

Ortha was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank and husband Phillip.

Graveside services were held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Young Cemetery in Madison County, Iowa.
