DEATH OF MRS. MARY COLTRANE-SHUTT IN OKLAHOMA

Mrs. Carrie Guilliams received a telegram last Saturday that her aunt, Mrs. Mary Shutt, of Cherokee, Okla., had died that day, and that the funeral would be Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Shutt was Mary Coltrane and an only sister of the late Mrs. Louisa Johnston. She came with her parents from Missouri to Madison county in 1861 and later loved in the Broadhorn neighborhood, where she was united in marriage to Mr. Frank Shutt, the oldest brother of David Shutt of St. Charles. For some years after their marriage, they lived on the Shutt farm, now owned by the McClures.

In the 80s they moved to Kansas, near Hutchinson, and in the 90s when Oklahoma opened for settlement, they went to Alfalfa county, Oklahoma, near Lambert. For some years, they have lived in Cherokee. Mr. Shutt died a few years ago. Some twelve years or more ago, they visited in St. Charles and vicinity.

She leaves a large family of children, grand-children and great-grand-children. Mrs. Shutt was about 85 years old.
