Bob “Racer Bob” Van Scoy, 58 of Winterset, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 at Crest Haven Care Center in Creston.

Robert Craig Van Scoy was born on November 12, 1965, the son of Robert and Ila (Smith) Van Scoy. Bob was raised in between Des Moines, Osceola, DeSoto and Earlham. He met Jennifer Kiddoo in 1991 and they moved to East Peru where they raised their two girls, Victoria and Lindsy. In 1997-98, Bob moved to Truro where he had his own body shop, Bob’s Auto. In 2002-03, he moved to Winterset and resided there ever since.

Bob attended the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was always working, painting and talking about cars. Cars were not just his work but one of his favorite hobbies.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Victoria Van Scoy of East Peru and Lindsy Van Scoy of Winterset; granddaughter, McKayla Woollums; and great-granddaughter, Maddy Woollums. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ila Van Scoy; a grandson, Bowen James Behlers.

A visitation, where family will be present to greet friends, will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2024, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Memorial
contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
