June 6 - Mrs. Amanda Smith, wife of Wm. Smith died at her home near Cairo Monday at 1:30 a. m. June 5, 1899. Deceased was born September 15, 1845, being at the time of her death 53 years, 8 months and 20 days. She was a patient sufferer through all her sickness and was a kind and loving mother. she leaves a husband and three sons to mourn her loss besides lots of other relatives and friends. The funeral was preached at Cairo Tuesday June 6, by Rev. Bishop. The remains were laid to rest in the Spring Run Cemetery.
