Adam Hill was born August 4, 1825, in Muskingum county, Ohio and died October 25, 1898, at Marsh, Louisa Co., Iowa. He was married in 1847 to Martha M. Green, who departed this life August 1, 1895. To whom were born eleven children, three of whom died in infancy, one daughter and son. Mrs. Lou Gardener died May 1, 1892, and Dan A. Hill died November 22, 1893. The rest of the children reside near the old home. Mr. Hill had been a member of the Presbyterian church for 60 years. He came to Iowa in 1857 settling in Morning Sun where he lived for eight years and engaged in the harness business. The rest of his life was spent on his farm six miles west of Marsh.
