(This issue is faded)

Mrs. Debbie Steele closed her eyes to earthly scenes about 8 o'clock last Wednesday morning May 27, at the home of her niece, Mrs. Abner Ball, near Bard, Iowa. Mrs. Steel was 65 years old the 26th of March. She has made her home for more than a year with Mrs. Ball and has been a great sufferer but was only confined to her bed for about six weeks. She was a patient sufferer and never murmured nor complained. All that medical skill and good nursing could do were to no avail and her life slowly faded away. She leaves only one child, a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Kerr, of Galesburg, Illinois, who was with her during the last two weeks of her sickness. Quite a number of her nephews and nieces and their families live in this county. Her funeral was from Long Creek M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Bishop of Columbus City, he having been chosen by the departed. She was laid to rest near other friends in the Long Creek cemetery. She died trusting in Jesus as her Savior.
