Orono, March 1 -The funeral of Mrs. Thomas Bebb was held at the Reformed church Sunday afternoon, her death having occured February 25, 1898. She was a native of Wales and had attained the age of 70 years. She leaves her venerable husband all alone for their home was childless. At different times nine orphan children found shelter in her motherly arms.

She was a modest, unassuming woman and of late she had seldom gone beyond the confines of her own home. She realized that the end was near and when friends would take leave of her she would express the earnest desire of meeting them in heaven. Her sister, Mrs. Helms (mother of Mesdames. Mollie and Ella McCollough) preceded her in death about a year.

The Letts undertaker had charge of the funeral. Interment was made in the village cemetery. At the last sad rites the church was crowded to the doors.
