Edmund R. Joy was born in Brockport, new York, April 14, 1825, and died in Wapello, Iowa, February 20, 1898, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 6 days. He was a pioneer settler of this county, a good citizen and an honorable man. He leaves a widow and six children to mourn his loss. The funeral was held from the M. E. church in Wapello on Monday last, conducted by the Masonic lodge, assisted by Rev. T. A. Pool.
