M. Veon Beer, 86, of 1793 Austin Rd., died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998, in Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, after a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. William Nissen of River of Life Ministries. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may register after 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her daughter, Priscilla Schroeder and husband Delbert of Marion; her brother, Ronald Booth and wife Shirley of Lago Vista, Texas; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Randall Plumb; three brothers, Lowrey, Kenneth and Robert Booth; two sisters, Audrey Liefgreen and Louise Arendts; and a grandson, Robert Framness.
Veon was born Jan. 12, 1912, in Promise City, Iowa, to Walter and Martina Lowrey Booth, and married Rudolph Beer on Oct. 29, 1955, in Liscomb, Iowa. He died in 1984. She was employed with the Iowa Vocation Rehabilitation of Iowa
