Jackson Hunter - Obit 1878

Does the Linn Co. library have old newspapers on microfilm to search for obituaries and if so, how old of papers would they have? I would like to know if an obituary was written for a Jackson Hunter that died in or around Cedar Rapids 8-31-1878. He is buried in the Linwood Cemetery.
Does anyone know of a volunteer who would be able to get a copy of the obituary if it does exist? Thanks!! Joyce Wolf
