History of Bridgeport Bridge

I am researching the Bridgeport Bridge in Lee County, Iowa. Was there a Bridgeport community in the area. Why was the bridge name change to Bridgeport? It was the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railroad bridge. Was there a railroad nearby? I was raised in the area of the Bridgeport Bridge and have always been curious about my favorite place to be. Any history is welcomed.
