Looking at the 1900 Jackson Twp., Jones County, Iowa census, I see daniel (born August 1828 Ireland), Mary (born April 1843 Illinois - parents Ireland)along with children Maggie, Sept 1866; Daniel, Jan 1874; Connie (son), May 1876; Nellie, May 1876 (twins); and Mary, Aug 1881. Also a Margaret Spellman (March 1874 Iowa) living with them listed as a Teacher.
Says Daniel and Mary have been married 38 years, had 9 children with 8 still living, and Daniel came to America in 1857 and is naturalized. He is a farmer and the rest are at home except oldest daughter Maggie listed as a dressmaker./9
By 1910 census they are in Anamosa, Mary is a widow (Daniel died between 1900-1910) and at home are children Ella (age 25), Mary (age 23), Maggie Murphy (daughter, widowed age 38), and grandchild Lucille M. (age 5 born Illinois).
For 1920 they are in Anamosa and Mary is still alive (age 74), along with children margaret Murphy (age 52 widowed), Ella C. Brady (daughter age 42), Mary E. Brady (daughter age 37), and grandchild Mary L. Murphy (age 14).
The WPA shows Daniel Sr.: born 8/15/1827 and died 2/9/1908 and buried at the Holy Cross cemetery. The same shows Mary Coakley Brady: born 4/25/1845 and died 12/22/1932 and also at Holy Cross (can get obits with these dates).
There is a Frank (age 63) and Johanna Coakley (maiden name Sullivan age 48)in Monticello 1885 census which would be the right age and birthplace for Mary's father (second marriage 1853 Wisconsin?). His real name is Francis.
Just some quick check facts which you probably already have...
