Powlishta was an Anglization by Frank Pavlista who emigrated to eastern Jones Co. IA in 1853 from Podrezov by Vamberk, Cz. Rep. His younger brother Joseph came in 1866. I think that all Jones Co. Pavlista came from those guys.
