I believe I have sorted out some of the Cashen confusion based on information included below this message.
There were three different Cornelius Cashen, not two as thought before. The eldest Cornelius was born in County Tipperary Ireland around 1800 and died before 1880. This would leave him out as a suspect in further marriages as Catherine O'Brien (1799-1888) was his wife for some time. She died in Monticello but is buried in Cascade.
They had a son named Cornelius (I will call Jr.)born c.1853 was probably first married 1890 to Minnie Murray then moved to Nebraska where she died. Then married second c.1894 to a Clara Oeschger (1866-1949). The 1910 census shows this is his second marriage and her first. She is buried in Cortland, NE.
Cornelius Jr. had a brother named Malachi Cashen (1841-1900) who married 1868 to Katherne Kline (1849-1899). Malachai had a son named Cornelius 1869-? (the third unknown one I will call II). The 1900 Richland, IA census says his father was born in IRE and mother in GER which fits for Malachai and Kate. He was married to a Mary E. 1874-?
The Daniel McGee living next door turns out to be Cornelius (II) wife's brother. It looks as though brothers and sisters between families married here.

The Elizabeth Cashen 1876-1895 at sacred Heart Cemetery must be a sister to Cornelius (II) and died at age 19 unmarried.
Does anyone know where Cornelius (II) and wife Mary E. McGee is buried? Or the elder Cornelius who died before 1880?
I don't know if I clouded anything or not but below are my references...

May be Mrs. Catherine Cashen in Dubuque died 1888.See a post made 2000 by Richard James Cashen looking for Cornelius Cashen born 1800 in County Tipperary, IRE married Catherine O'Brien born 1799 also same place, died March 17, 1888 Monticello and buried in Cascade. Came to America in 1853.
