Joseph and Lydia Wasson

WASSON

My great grandfather Joseph Wasson divorces Carrie Sawyer Wasson in 1899 and married Edna Orr Hanna in 1916.

In the 1905 Iowa Census he is in a household with "Lidy Wasson" and his son Duncan (my grandfather). The 12-13-1906 Monticello Express refers to a Mrs. Wasson returning from Cedar Rapids, and three times in 1907 it refers to an equity case between Lydia Wasson vs. Joseph Wasson. But I haven't turned up any specific marriage, divorce or death records that refer to Lydia, and Joe's obituary makes no mention of her, and only indicates two marriages.

Are relevant court records for this period available, and would they be accessible at the courthouse if they are? Something for me to consider when planning my next trip out that way.

Thank you,

Mark Wasson
