Henry Dearborn born 6/14/1829 in New Hampshire came to Stone City, Jones CO.,IA after learning the stone cutting and mason trade in Lowell, Mass.He arrived in 1856 3 years before the first railroad and opened up the first quarries. His name was continuously associated with this work for 62 years of his life. the name of his business was H.Dearborn and Sons and a stone marking is still there across the road from his residence, which still stands. He had three sons and two daughers. He died on 10/29/1906. He was survivedby his wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters
