Ron was born on November 16, 1951 in Iowa City to Dean and Alice (Sedlacek) Cole. After graduating from Highland High School in Riverside, Ron spent his entire career in the grocery and retail industries. Throughout the years, he could often be found stocking shelves or greeting customers at Benner’s, Randall’s, Cub Foods and Wal-Mart.
On April 26, 1986, Ron married Shari Hodson in Riverside and to this union, their daughter, Heather was born.
In his spare time, Ron enjoyed detailing cars, entering his 1977 Buick Regal into car shows and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Above all, spending time with his family were the memories he truly cherished…especially doting on his three granddaughters.
Ron is survived by his wife, Shari; daughter, Heather (Ben) Finnegan; siblings: Randy (Chris) Cole, Jolene (Andy) Colthurst, Roger (Laurie) Cole, Robert (Kim) Cole, Nancy (Scott) Hebl, Rick (Julie) Cole, Mary Ellen (Joel) Yedlik, Rodney Cole; and three granddaughters: Harper, Lucy and Ella Finnegan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Alice Cole; sister, Kathy (Dave) Dalton; and one child at birth, Kellie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or to Parkview Church.
