Lois Baird, 69, of Iowa City, passed away on January 1, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Eldon Cemetery.

Lois was born on January 23, 1954 in Ottumwa, Iowa to John and Genevieve (Pilcher) Baird. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1972 and then went on to work for Tenco Company. Lois moved to Arizona where she lived and worked for 22 years before returning to Iowa where she retired from Goodwill in 2012.

Lois was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa City. It was here that she enjoyed singing in the choir, participating in all of it’s activities and joining the ladies’ group. Lois loved playing bingo, going to the movies, and never passed up a good birthday party (especially at Carlos O’Kellys!)

Lois is survived by her parents: John and Genevieve; siblings: David (Patricia) Baird and Louann Baird Davis; nieces and nephews: Shawna (Ryan) Porter, Shayla Rae, Jenna Nelson, Kelly Nelson, Todd Davis, Tammy Shell, Tracy Walker and Stephanie Wymore as well as several extended family members. She was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Baird; brother-in-law, Jon Davis; niece, Jennifer Davis Daniel and nephew-in-law, Dave Shell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church of Iowa City.
