Dennis Wayne Aubrecht, 69, of Iowa City, IA, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral with private burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.

Dennis was born on July 18, 1954 in Iowa City, IA the son of Vernon and Georgia (Schnoebelen) Aubrecht. He graduated from City High School in 1974 participating in both football and wrestling while there. Dennis received a Bachelor in Business Administration from The University of Iowa in 1979 and started work with JC Penny’s, retiring after 30 plus years.

Dennis was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and was very involved in anything he could to help others. He loved sports and was an avid Hawkeye fan. Dennis loved to spend his time with family playing board games or hanging out. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it.

Dennis is survived by his five siblings, Mike Aubrecht, Pam Rogers, Kenny (Annie) Aubrecht, Sue Stransky all of Iowa City and Eric (Tracey) Aubrecht of North Liberty; and extended family. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jeff Stransky.
