Last rites for Mrs. Richmond (Thelma Frances) Wandling, 71, a former Cedar county resident, were held at Iowa City Nov. 5 with the Rev. Robert Walsh officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens cemetery at Iowa City. Mrs. Wandling died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City following a lengthy illness Nov. 2.

The daughter of Elza and Mary Condra Adamson, she was born in Appanoose county March 18, 1910. She received a degree at Drake University and taught in the Lone Tree and Exline schools prior to her marriage to Richmond Wandling in Tipton July 3, 1938. Following her marriage she taught in the Sunbury No. 7 school.

The Wandlings moved to Iowa City where she was employed by the University of Iowa from 1960 to 1975. She was a member of First Christian church, Iowa City and the Order of the Eastern Star at Lone Tree.

Mrs. Wandling is survived by her husband, a son, Gene L., Iowa City; 2 sisters, Mrs. Elsie (George) Nelson, Aurelia and Mrs. Ersel (Walter) White, Centerville. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
