Last rites for Ray J. Hahn, 74, former West Branch resident, were held in Iowa City Dec. 1 with burial in Oakland cemetery. Mr. Hahn died at an Iowa City hospital Nov. 27 following a short illness.

The son of William and Bessie Smith Hahn, he was born in Johnson county July 29, 1906 and was married to Alice Dewey in Iowa City Dec. 15, 1926.

Before moving to Iowa City he was a livestock buyer, trucker and custom butcher in West Branch. He operated the Hahn Roofing Co. in Iowa City until his retirement in 1965.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, Elmer, Solon and Clarence, Arcadia, CA, 8 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter and 2 sisters, Mrs. Donald (Lillian) Henik, Lone Tree and Mrs. E. N. (Mildred) Eggers, Whittier, Ca. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
