22 January 1981 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for David E. Kingsbury, 62, Morse, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home Jan. 21 with the Rev. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Burial was in Memory Garden cemetery at Morse. Pallbearers were Robert and Harold Turner, Rick Williams, Joe and Terry Oneal and John Adams. Mrs. Max Phelps was organist. The American flag was presented by the Tipton American Legion post.

Mr. Kingsbury died at University hospitals, Iowa City, Jan. 19 following an extended illness.

The son of Leonard and Elsie Marriman Kingsbury, he was born at Maywood, Ill. Aug. 29, 1918 and attended the Maywood schools. He was married to C. June Reed at Muscatine Dec. 17, 1962.

A retired farmer and clerk for the Breese company in Iowa City, he lived in Tipton before moving to Morse 11 years ago. He was a member of the Methodist church. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion at West Branch.

Mr. Kingsbury is survived by his wife; 6 step-daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Nancy) Williams, Belle Plaine; Mrs. Todd (Bonnie) Swick, Tipton; Mrs. Roger (Delores) Hayman, Yorktown, Va.; Mona Reed, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Lance (Robin) Kleinsmith, Great Lakes, Ill. and Mrs. Michael (Kathy) Harrison, Monterey, Calif.; a step-son, Thomas P. Reed, Tipton; 17 step-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Edward (Alice) Haynes, Yuma, Ariz. and a brother, Charles Kingsbury, West Branch.
