Evelyn H. Morrissey, 68 of Coralville died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center after a lengthy illness.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lensing’s Oakhill, 210 Holiday Road, Coralville, Iowa where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Evelyn H. Morrissey Memorial Fund.

Evelyn was born in Iowa City on August 1, 1936 the daughter of Ralph and Helen (Mulherin) Dee. She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School. She married Edwin Morrissey on August 16, 1958 in Iowa City. She was a homemaker for many years before going to work as a cashier at Wal-Mart. Evelyn was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Evelyn is survived by her two sons Joe Morrissey and his wife Melody of Oxford and Tim Morrissey and his wife Deb of Mt. Vernon; four daughters Diane Eckrich and her husband Joe of Claremore, Oklahoma, Debbie Black, Sharon Jacobs and her husband Tom all of North Liberty and Mary Collier and her husband Jeff of Edina, Minnesota; a son-in-law John Shaw of Des Moines, Iowa. One sister, Dorothy Rogers and her husband Jerrie of Iowa City. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Kathleen Shaw and one sister, Patsy Carran.
