Myrtle Dale Yoder, 87, a resident of Lantern Park Care Center and formerly of 915
Dearborn Street died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Mercy Hospital of a sudden illness.

Funeral Services to celebrate Myrtle’s life will be held at 3PM, Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, where friends may call after 1:30PM. The Rev. Dr. John Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church or the Arthritis Foundation.

Myrtle was born July 24, 1916 in rural Johnson County and raised near Sharon Center, where she graduated from high school. She married Paul Yoder on February 23, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1987.

She and her husband were proud of the home they built on Dearborn Street. They always attended and were involved with the activities of their son and granddaughters. Myrtle loved to garden, cook, can and was an avid reader. For many years she was a member of First United Methodist Church and in later years because of accessibility joined St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

The family would like to extend thanks to all the staff at Lantern Park Care Center for the caring companionship they gave to Myrtle.

Myrtle is survived by her son Dale (Margie) Yoder of Iowa City; two granddaughters, Jennifer Yoder of Iowa City and Elissa Yoder of Fort Collins, Colorado; one sister, Hazel Jones of Riverside, Iowa and one brother Henry (Thelma) Reynolds of Iowa City.
