Cecilia Marie Kaalberg, 78 of Iowa City died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Greenwood Manor after a sudden illness.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Iowa City. Visitation will be on Sunday 3:00 to 5:00pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Avenue in Iowa City. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Cecilia M. Kaalberg Memorial Fund. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Nichols, Iowa.

Cecilia was born July 3, 1925 near Lone Tree, Iowa the daughter of Frank M. and Frances D. (Van Aken) Kaalberg. She grew up in Lone Tree and has lived in Iowa City since 1965. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lone Tree, Iowa and was also a member of the choir.

She is survived by her two sisters, Pauline Murphy of Richmond, Iowa, Loretta Peterson and her husband Paul of Iowa City, Iowa; two brothers, Ambrose Kaalberg and his wife Janet of Ladora, Iowa and by Kenneth Kaalberg and his wife Gloria of Palm Harbor, FL
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, three brothers, Frank, Kenneth and Anthony all preceded her in death.
