Harold F. Shrauger Jr., 87 of Iowa City, died Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A Memorial Service will be held at ( ) Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Online condolences may be sent for his family through our website @www.gayandciha.com. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Harold was born May 26, 1916 in Atlantic, Iowa to Harold Francis Shrauger Sr. and Cornelia Prentiss Shrauger. He attended the University of Iowa, served as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force during World War II and spent his professional career as a sales manager within the agricultural products industry. He married Frances E. Kephart in 1943. He was a lifelong resident of the state of Iowa, living in Atlantic, Iowa and LeMars, Iowa before retiring and moving to Iowa City.

He was an avid reader, gardener and jazz enthusiast.

His family includes his wife, Frances, daughter, Frances Shrauger Snow of Barrington, IL; granddaughter, Jennifer Snow of River Grove, IL, his great-grandchildren, Morgan and Donegan, and his sister, Virginia S. Jones of Rochester, NY.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cornelia Shrauger Day of Washington, Iowa.
