Roy P. Lenz, 92, of 805 Wylde Green Road in Iowa City, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City with Reverend Judy Gingerich officiating. Friends may call 1 hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa City Animal Shelter.

Roy was born April 4, 1912 in Johnson County, the son of Peter N. & May (Bower) Lenz. He worked for Miller’s Conoco in Iowa City as a propane service manager. Roy was a member of Iowa City Eagle’s Lodge and was a lifetime member of Johnson County.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Myers & her husband Pat of Pleasantville, Iowa and Karen Evans & her husband Terry of Springville, Iowa; 1 sister, Betty Boetzart of Laurel, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, Phil Myers, Susie Heathman, Kathy Myers, Rick Evans, Vickie Fish, Randy Evans and Ryan Evans, 11 great grandchildren and three future grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters and lifelong friends, Oral & Charlotte Miller.
