Kathyryn “Katy” E. Shonka, 76 of 1130 2nd Ave. Iowa City died Sunday, April 11, 2004 after a long illness.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Lensing Funeral Service- 605 Kirkwood Ave. Iowa City, Iowa. A private family Graveside service will be held. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice or Mercy Hospital.

Kathyryn was born June 10, 1927 in Tiffin, Iowa the daughter of Zack and Emma Mae (Hensen) Arnold. On July 15, 1950 she married Leo R. “Bob” Shonka in Iowa City, Iowa.

Her survivors include her husband, Bob Shonka of Iowa City, Iowa one son, William Shonka and his wife Marsha of Keokuk, Iowa; two grandchildren, Kristy and Adam; one brother, Jerry Arnold of Iowa City, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister and five brothers.
