Joseph “Joe” Bulechek, 90 of West Branch, formerly of Iowa City, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Crestview Nursing Home in West Branch.

Funeral Services for Joe will be Monday March 8, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. A visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Beverly Hovenkamp will be officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be directed to the Salvation Army.

Joe was born August 13, 1913 in Johnson County, the son of Frank and Ella (Rouner) Bulechek. Joe married Louise Ball on March 10, 1937 in Rock Island, Illinois. They were married for more than 50 years before Louise passed away on January 11, 1994.

Joe loved his farming. He farmed for more than 50 years in the Iowa City area. He was a member of Grace Missionary Church in Iowa City and a former member of both the Iowa City Moose Lodge #1096 and the Iowa City Eagles Lodge. Joe also enjoyed taking time just to go on a drive.

Joe is survived by his two sisters Helen Graham of Iowa City and Dorothy Stinocher of Brighton; Nephews Lysle Stinocher of Atlanta, Georgia, David Stinocher of Mankato Minnesota and Carl Stinocher of Boseman, Montana. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise and his parents.
