John C. Boat, Kellogg Dies At Hospital In Des Moines On Thursday
John C. Boat of Kellogg, who operated a combination grocery-general merchandise store in Kellogg for thirty years, died at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines, Thursday night, Feb. 23.
Boat was a member of the Masonic Lodge and American Legion as well as being a Navy veteran of World War I.
A grocery man by trade, he operated stores in Slater for five years, Lynnville for eight years and Des Moines until 1931.
Services were conducted in Newton yesterday with the Morgan-Loehr Funeral Home of Newton in charge.
