Those left to honor Wilburn's memory include his wife of 65 years, Marie; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald W. and Julie K. Brown of Newton; his 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie and Tex Horstman and Shirley and Jerry Crady, all of Newton; 10 grandchildren and his 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Harley Brown of Brumley, Missouri; his 2 sisters, Hazel Rush of Versailles, Missouri and Cleo Jeffries of Osage Beach, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette C. and Luna J. (Phillips) Brown, brother, Lee Brown and his sister, Edna Byrd.
Wilburn served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II.
Wilburn was an over the road truck driver. He drove truck for the Western Transportation Company for 25 years. Wilburn was an award winning truck driver with a million miles accident free.
Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County or to the Jasper County Senior Citizens may be left at the funeral home.
Visitation: Friends may call from 3-8 P.M., Monday, July 12, 2004 at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M., Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton.
