Silas Pete Holland, Jr., 42, of 2803 S. 4th Ave. E., Newton, a native of Grinnell, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, at St. Luke's Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Newton, with the Rev. Julia E. Poulsen officiating. Burial will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Wallace Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The son of Silas and Irene Stout Holland, he was born April 20, 1940, in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell schools. On July 26, 1958, he was married to Donna Worthy, at Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.
Mr. Holland, who had lived in Newton since 1961, was vice president of Meisner Electric in Newton. He attended St. Luke's United Methodist Church and was a member of the Elks Lodge and Associated Builders and Contractors.
Survivors include his wife Donna of Newton; one son, Jerry Holland of Chicago; a daughter, Janet of Newton; and three sisters, Rosie Jeffries of Marshalltown, Deloris Johnson of Grinnell and Betty Pickens of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, John.
Memorials in Mr. Holland's name may be made to the Associated Builders and Contractor Building Fund.
