John William Osborn, 66, of Mingo, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at the VA Hospital Hospice. There will be no memorial service. John will be cremated and along with the cremains of his wife, Rhonda, who died July 20, 2012, will be laid to rest at Ashton Chapel Cemetery.
John was born and raised in Jasper County. He was a Vietnam Era veteran. He served two years in Korea. John owned Ozzy’s, the local bar in Mingo, from 1996-2012. He married Rhonda in November 2008.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John R. and Jaquelin (Burns) Osborn; and his wife, Rhonda.
Those left to honor his memory are his son, William (Bill); and granddaughter, Ella Quinn; two sisters, Joanne (Jim) Dannels of Newton and Julia Osborn of West Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews. His nephew Bailey was of great help to John during his later life.
