Dies Few Minutes After Taking A Dose Of Poison
Nile Schweinebart, 24, of Baxter, died at the home of his father at Baxter shortly before 12:00 o’clock Thursday, March 2, after taking poison approximately an hour previously.
The young man is believed to have taken his own life because of worry and despondency, having been out of work for some time.
Schweinebart took the poison at approximately 11:00 o’clock at the home of his father, Will Schweinebart. Other members of the household witnessed the action, but presumed he was taking a dose of salts and thought nothing of it until approximately a half-hour later, when convulsions set in. A doctor was called immediately, but he was beyond help and died a few minutes later. There will be no inquest; it was learned from County Coroner, E. A. McMurray. – Jasper County Record
