Charles Wallace Dies After Short Illness
Charles M. Wallace was born January 25, 1857 in Vandalia, Iowa, and departed from this life, January 26, 1949, at the age of 93 years. He had been a resident of Des Moines for the past 37 years.
He was united in marriage with Frances Bowers, also of Vandalia, October 17, 1892, and to this union nine children were born.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Frances Wallace; two sons, Fred and Ralph; and four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Davis and Mrs. Edith Elliott of Des Moines, Mrs. Laura Long of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Grace Breese, of Runnells; twenty seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Services were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Des Moines, conducted by the Rev. Lesley Carlson of Des Moines. Interment was made at Vandalia, Iowa
