COLFAX - Funeral services for Ralph Russell De Reus, 59, Jasper County banker since 1948, were held today, July 9, at the Colfax Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. John McKinstry, pastor of the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax, conducted services. Burial was in Colfax Cemetery.

Memorials may be left at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

He died Friday morning, July 6, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Survivors are his wife, Jane; and his mother, Mrs. Cecile De Reus of Colfax.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1969.

Mr. De Reus was a member of the Colfax American Legion Post, Riverside Masonic Lodge AF and AM of Colfax, Az-Ga-Zig Shrine in Des Moines; Royal Arch Masons and Elks Club in Newton and the Jasper County Shrine Club.

He was a member of past president of the Jasper County Bankers Association.

The son of Howard and Cecile Peterson De Reus, he was born April 27, 1925 in Mingo and was a 1943 graduate of Mingo High School.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

He was married to Jane Reynolds June 15, 1947 at Redfield. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 9 July 1984.
