Ray Livingston

Ray C. Livingston 99, of 1103 N. 5th Ave. E, a farmer in Buena Vista Township in Jasper County until retiring and moving to Newton in 1961, died Saturday evening, July 7, at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Dean Shelly, pastor of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to the St. Paul Bible College Scholarship Fund may be left at the funeral home.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.

Survivors are his wife, Emma; and several nieces and nephews, including Ardell Welle, Lela Bishop, Marion Welle, Mrs. Rozelle Van Dalen and Mrs. John Weston, all of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.

Mr. Livingston was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church whee he had taught Sunday school for more than 50 years.

The son of Ira N. and Nettie Adamson Livingston, he was born May 5, 1885 in Buena Vista Township and attended Jasper County Schools and Newton Normal College.
