Byron "Bud" S. Brain
September 18, 1930 ~ August 22, 2016Bud’s funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, August 26th at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, August 25th at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Christian Conference Center in rural Newton; memorials may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the Wallace Family Funeral Home, please add, Attn: Brain Family on the envelope.
Byron S. “Bud” Brain, the son of LeRoy E. and Ella E. Davis Brain was born on September 18, 1930 in Newton, Iowa. He was a graduate of Newton High School in 1948. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War.
On July 7, 1950, Bud was united in marriage with Carol L. Stanley in Kellogg, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Jeff and Cathy. He retired from the Maytag Company as the Manager of Office Systems. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Maytag Labor Management, former member of the Data Processing Management Association and he was an Eagle Scout.
Bud died on Monday, August 22, 2016, he was 85. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Jymm Crady; sister, Madge (Walt) Keith; brothers-in-law, Bert Auten and Irv Church.
Those left to honor Bud’s memory are his wife, Carol of Newton; and children, Jeff (Robin) Brain of Newton and Cathy Crady (Patrick Fortune) of Colfax; two grandchildren, Nicole Brain of Newton and Tammy (Amy) Simmons of Newton; two step grandchildren, Christopher (Erika) Crady of Ankeny and Chad Crady of Newton; his two great-grandchildren, Conner and Parker; his six step great-grandchildren, Tegan, Cora, Kyle, Casey, Ava and Acelynn; sisters, Charolotte Auten of Newton and Vera Church of Newton; and his several nieces and nephews. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 22 Aug 2016.
