Frances Sickora

Colfax, Iowa – Funeral services for Frances Sickora, 76, of Colfax, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The Rev. Jill Flyr will officiate.

Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after noon Monday, at the funeral home. Family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sickora died Saturday, Oct. 11, at Des Moines general Hospital.

Memorials to Colfax Senior Citizens will be accepted.

The daughter of William and Agnes Miracle Plonty, she was born May 12, 1921, in Wisconsin.

She married Nicholas Sickora.

A longtime resident of Jasper County, she lived in Colfax for 52 years. She worked as a homemaker. Mrs. Sickora was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church and Colfax Senior Citizens.

Survivors include two sons, Gilbert and Richard, both of Colfax; four daughters, Margaret Hird of Fort Collins, Colo., Mary Power of Runnells, Lois Powell of Kirksville, Mo. and Nancy Hodsall of Colfax; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest of Milwaukee, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa 11 Oct 1997.
