Ella Schmidt Services Today

Ella Schmidt, 97, died Monday, April 5, 1993, at Colonial Manor in Baxter. Services will be held this morning (Thursday, April 8) at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ, rural Baxter. Pastor Marie Paterik will conduct services. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Art Krampe, Richard Allspach,Virgil Saak, Edgar Krueger, Robert Seeley, and Robert Allan.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mrs. Schmidt was born January 9, 1896, in rural Baxter to Charles and Friederike Boedeker. She attended local schools. On January 5, 1921, she was married to William Schmidt in Baxter.

They farmed north of Baxter, retiring in 1957, when they moved to Marshalltown. She became a resident of Colonial Manor in Baxter in 1988.

She is survived by one son, Roger of Baxter; a daughter, Gertrude Cooper of Presidio,Texas; five grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974, a son, Ralph, one brother, Otto Sanderman, three sisters, Clara Waterman, Anna Allspach, and Meta Saak, and one great-grandchild. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, Baxter, Iowa, Thursday April 8, 1993.
