Gary Alexander Services Held Feb. 1
Gary L. Alexander, 56, of Greencastle, a lifelong resident of Jasper county, died Thursday, January 28, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 1, at the United Methodist Church in Colfax. Burial was in McKeever Cemetery, north of Colfax.

Officiating was the Rev. Michael Orthel, pastor of the church.

Pat Evans was the organist.

Casket bearers were Larry Ingram, Bob Shepley, Don Shepley, Dick Myers, Dick Hansen, and Dennis Berry.

Honorary bearers were Omer Lamb, Lee Buckley, Gene Haack, Fred Brown and Danny Luing.

Survivors are his wife, Lucille; two sons, Jesse of Des Moines and Frank of Mingo; a daughter, Anna (Mrs. Kirk) Russell of Colfax; a brother, Jim, of Colfax, and a sister, Betty Brown, of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant daughter.

Mr. Alexander, a navy veteran was a self-employed logger.

The son of Howard and Dorothy Beard Alexander, he was born November 2, 1936 in Oswalt.
