Servicers Today For Phoebe Lorene Zook
Services for Phoebe Lorene Zook, 8, of Colfax, who died Sunday at her home of cancer, will be held at 2:00 p.m. today (Thursday, January 28), at the Methodist Church in Mitchellville. Burial will be at the Mitchellville City Cemetery.

Phoebe was born February 13, 1914 in Rising Sun, Iowa to Carl and Phoebe Drottz. She attended Bondurant High School and was a member of the Mitchellville Methodist Church. She was employed at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines as a nurses aide until her retirement in1979.

She was married to Marion Zook on October 31, 1948 and lived in the Mitchellville area most of her life, moving to Colfax in 1984.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Frederick White and Ronald Zook.

Survivors include three sons, Fred White of Grinnell, Dale Zook of Des Moines and Harlen Zook of Cedar Falls; five daughters, Opal Coldiron of Colfax, Anne Berry, Dorothy Carmer and Sue Brown, all of Mitchellville, and Mary Johnson of Knoxville, Tenn; a brother, Vern Drottz of Moline, Ill.; three sisters, Louise Anderson and Dorothy Westholm, both of Des Moines and Thelma Carley of Urbandale; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and very close and dear friends, Don and Charlotte Shepley and family. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa, Thursday, January 28, 1993
